Born in Basel (Switzerland), Luc Aeschlimann studied with Pierre Fournier, Boris Pergamenschikow, Reinhard Latzko, Jean Hubeau, Walter Levin, Hatto Beyerle and others.

In 1983 he was prize winner of the Concours National des Jeunes Musiciens and 1st prize winner of the Koblenz Competition (Germany) in 1991. He is currently teacher at the Neuchatel Conservatoire of Music in Switzerland and solo cellist in the Chamber Orchestra of Neuchatel. He is performing regularly as soloist as well as chamber musician throughout Europe.
