JERUSALEM ACADEMY OF MUSIC AND DANCE

Тhe Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance founded in 1958, though its history dates back to the 1920’s, is located on the Givat Ram campus of Hebrew University in Jerusalem. The curriculum combines general studies at both regular and intensive levels with specialization in the areas of the history of music and dance, harmony, and solfeggio. The dance curriculum includes history of dance together with practical lessons in classical ballet, modern dance, jazz, improvisation, and choreography. Computer training is also included in the curriculum.

The Academy music and dance ensembles are often invited to participate in official state and public events in Israel and abroad and perform together with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra and other symphonic orchestras. In addition, students take part in special community projects, appearing in the retirement homes and hospitals. Scholarships are awarded to gifted and/or needy students.
