MIXED CHOIR OF ESTONIAN ACADEMY OF MUSIC AND THEATRE

Тhe singers of the Mixed Choir of Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre are students of choral conducting and music departments of the academy. The Choir’s repertoire ranges from early Gregorian chorals and polyphonies to the latest works by contemporary authors.

Performing of classical Estonian choral music and cooperation with leading Estonian composers, such as Veljo Tormis, Arvo Pyart, Renee Eespere, Urmas Sisask etc., is an essential part of the Choir’s activities.

During the recent years the Choir has performed together with the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra and the Symphony Orchestra of Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre. The Mixed Choir was the 1st prize winner of the international choir festival Tallinn 2001. The Choir’s artistic director is professor Toomas Kapten.
