Аndrei Penugin is a post-graduate student at the St. Petersrurg Conservatoire with prof. Gantvarg.

In 2003–2006 he participated in H. Baerle master-classes in Germany. Penugin has become the prize winner of the Premio Valentino Bucchi, Rome (2002), as a member of the Red Quartet became a laureate at the Reger International Contest (2002).

In 2006 he was awarded a Special Prize at the Yuri Bashmet International Violists Contest.
