Dmitry CHASSOVITIN (piano)

Dmitry Chassovitin graduated from the St. Petersburg N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatoire, Piano Department, in 1982. Since 1987 he has been teaching piano at the St. Petersburg State Conservatoire. He performs extensively as a soloist and as a concert-master.

Chassovitin was a prize-winner at the International Contest in Germany; he recorded 2 CDs and recorded his recital on the radio of Russia, Wroslaw and on the BBC. Dmitry Chassovition reads lectures on piano performance at the Birmingham University (1999), the Boston University (1999, 2000), the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (Glasgow, Scotland).

At present he is Head of the Department of Piano Performing Skills, Pedagogy and Special Subsidiary Piano, member of the Educational Methodological Association of the Committee on musical education.
