Alexander SLADKOVSKY (conductor)

Alexander Sladkovsky is Honored Artist of Russia. He graduated from the P. I. Tchaikovsky Moscow Conservatory and the Saint Petersburg Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory (in the studio of V. A. Tchernushenko). He is a C. C. Prokofiev International Competition Champion (1999).

From October 1997 — February 2001 Alexander Sladkovsky was the conductor of the M. I. Glinka Saint Petersburg State Academic Capella Symphony Orchestra, and from May 2001 — August 2003 the principle conductor of the Saint Petersburg Conservatory State Theatre of Opera and Ballet. As of August 2002 he is the artistic director and principle conductor of the Russian Youth Philharmonic. In May 2004 he was appointed principle conductor of the M. I. Glinka Saint Petersburg Capella, and since April 2005 he has conducted the Russian National Orchestra.

Alexander Sladkovsky has performed with musicians such as Y. Bashmet, I. Bogatcheva, A. Bruni, N. Putilin, A. Netrebko, O. Kondina, E. Mechetina, S. Roldugin, N. Petrov, N. Lugansky, V. Mishuk, N. Osetinskaya, D. Matsuev, P. Raikerus, and others.

He has been guest conductor in collaborations with Tchaikovsky State Academic Symphony Orchestra and Bolshoi Symphony Orchestra, Republic Honoured Collective Symphony Orchestra Saint Petersburg State Academic Symphony Philharmonic, and the Moscow State Academic Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, and others.
